For a secure website experience

Our rigorous security procedures ensure that your computer is protected when you visit our website:

Secure section indicator

An icon appears in the upper right corner of the pages in the secure section of our website. This indicator shows you at a glance whether you’re in a secure section.

You can click on this icon at any time if you want information about our security features while you’re in the secure sections of our site. It will bring you to this section.

What is a “secure section?”

The secure sections of our website are protected by the SSL protocol. When you send us confidential information over the Internet, such as your name, address or password, this protocol is used to make sure the information stays confidential and isn’t altered in any way. Since the information is encrypted, no one can read it as it travels between your browser and our site. We also use Firewalls so that information sent over the Internet has to pass through a number of safety checkpoints between your computer and our systems. This prevents unauthorized access to our information systems.

To benefit from the security offered by the SSL protocol, you need to use a 128-bit encryption browser, such as versions listed below in the Browser versions section. Please note that the Representative’s virtual office (Webi) isn’t Macintosh compatible.

Browser versions

Whether you’re visiting the Desjardins Financial Security site or the group insurance site or travel insurance site, use one of the following browsers for best results:

    • Internet Explorer: Versions 6.0 and 8.0 (Windows)
    • Firefox: Version 3.6 (Windows)
    • Safari: Version 3.1.1 (Macintosh)

If you’re using one of the following Web browsers, please advise us of any errors you encounter so we can make the necessary corrections:

    • Internet Explorer: Version 6.0+ (Windows)
    • Firefox: Version 2.0+ (Windows)
    • Safari: Version 3.0+ (Macintosh)

All of the browsers listed above use standard security protocols, which the browser activates automatically when you access your personal file.

If you use a Mac, the Excel reports that you generate in the Transaction History section won’t let you view the details of your transactions.

Important note concerning the use of Adobe Reader with Firefox: You may experience difficulties with Adobe Reader. If so, we recommend that you uninstall it, and then reinstall it as follows:

  • In the Windows Control Panel, double-click on Add or Remove Programs.
  • Click on Change or Remove Programs.
  • Select Adobe Reader from the list, and then click on Remove.
  • Follow the steps to uninstall Adobe Reader. These may vary from one version to another.
  • Finally, reinstall Adobe Reader.

Any time you want to confirm that you’re really dealing with Desjardins Financial Security and not a malicious third party, check the security certificate of our secure pages.
