Call us anytime for advice from a nurse on nutrition, vaccinations, childcare and the use of natural products or prescription drugs.

In the event of a disability or critical illness, a nurse can explain treatment options and help you better cope with your situation.

Who can use our phone assistance service?

You can use this confidential service if you have an individual insurance product listed below that was issued on June 18, 2018, or later:

  • Disability insurance
  • Healthcare insurance
  • Critical illness insurance
  • Hybrid insurance (Life with Critical Illness Advance and Life with Long-Term Care Advance)

Assistance services

If you're looking to get help with daily activities or support in difficult times, we can point you in the right direction. Our assistance services are available free of charge with certain insurance products[ Note 1 ].

Second medical opinion

If you're ill, you can get a second opinion on your diagnosis. A specialist will review your medical record and history and come up with the best treatment plan.

This confidential consultation service is available to the adult insured, their immediate family (spouse or common-law partners and dependent children[ Note 3 ]) and extended family (parents, parents-in-law, siblings and siblings-in-law)[ Note 2 ].

Psychological assistance

You can talk to a psychologist, in person or on the phone, for help with various issues.

  • Job-related: Career path, job satisfaction, burnout
  • Physical: Chronic illness, depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleep disorders
  • Addiction: Drugs, alcohol, gambling

Autonomy assistance

If you experience a temporary or permanent loss of autonomy, you can receive non-medical home care services to help you and your caregivers maintain quality of life.

Domestic assistance[ Note 4 ]

Available to the insured and their caregivers.

Examples include light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, pet care, grocery shopping and other errands, and supervision of a person living alone.

Assistance with daily living[ Note 4 ]

Available to the insured.

Examples include hygiene and comfort care, help with morning and evening routines and mobility at home, supervision, transportation for medical appointments and companion services for outings.
